Brake Control Devices in Railway Vehicles
Refurbishment and modernisation of the control, reporting and logging system for the diagnostics and post-repair testing of brake control devices in Railway Vehicles.
Braking systems are one of the most important components in transport technology. Their quality, reliability, and serviceability directly impact the safety in transport. For this reason, the study of braking systems in transport engineering is of particular importance for increasing the professionalism of personnel involved in their production, operation, repair, and maintenance.
In order to increase the quality of training and the preparation of students for solving practical problems in a real environment and for the implementation of the European requirements for safety in transport according to the Directives of the European Commission, as well as in response to the increased requirements for engineering personnel graduating from Todor Kableshkov University of Transport and in accordance with the scientific priorities set by the University, it is necessary to develop a concept for new modern data acquisition (DAQ) system for controlling, reporting, and recording the results obtained on a stand for diagnostics and post-repair tests of brake control devices in Railway Vehicles. Fitted with state-of-the-art equipment the DAQ system will increase the quality of education in the following studied subjects: “Railway engineering”, “Rolling stock for metropolitan and high-speed trains”, “Technology and management in transport”, “Transport engineering”, as well as training courses for locomotive engineers of electric and diesel locomotives, wagon inspectors, shunters, trainmaster, technicians, and fitters related to the operation, repair, maintenance, and testing of braking equipment for rolling stock, etc.
